Great Outdoor Winter Activities - All Cost Less Than $30
Lots of people have felt before the exhilarating buzz of flying down the side of a hill on a a toboggan, but have not renewed the experience since their teenage years. It is wrong to view it as simply kids fun though, as lots of winter resorts now have specialist tobogganing areas and slopes. It is the perfect activity for adults and children to share time having fun together. So far as cost goes, there is a wide range of plastic toboggans available priced at under $10, and that is literally all you need.
The majority of winter resorts have a dedicated ice ring, or a lake nearby that has frozen over. You can learn the skills in less than an hour, and you can be doing spins and tricks in just half a day. Cheap skates are available at many stores that sell sports equipment, for around $20-30, and are a great investment because they can be used throughout the year at your local ice ring as well.
Most winter resorts have snowshoeing trails available for their guests. Why do you need snowshoes to use the trails? Because wearing a pair makes walking down and around snowy areas much less hardwork, and you can therefore stay out for longer and take in a greater range of scenery. While if you purchase your own pair of snowshoes it will cost you about $150-200, it is possible to rent some at most resorts for a fraction of the cost - about $15-20 per day.
So, this winter, do not let a shortage of money stop you from enjoying yourself in the snow!
